The administrative regulation 922 KAR 2:240 establishes the requirements for an individual to obtain
a Kentucky Early Care and Education Trainer's Credential and identifies whom the credentialed individual may train.
In August 2000, as a component of KIDS Now, the Early Childhood Development Authority accepted the recommendations of the Professional Development Council and the Credentials Work Group, establishing a new Early Childhood Trainer’s Credential.
In April, 2003, the first Early Care and Education Trainer's Credential was issued. Since then, approximately 2,050 credentials have been issued to 1,170 trainers. Currently, there are 660 active trainers.
Applications are reviewed by early care and education professionals from across the Commonwealth.
You can complete the trainings in any order, however all trainings must be completed prior to submitting the application.
